Support Groups We Recommend
Â
Below, you'll find a selection of some of the key support groups that inform and inspire our work. While this list isn't exhaustive, it highlights some of the foundational texts that guide our approach and philosophy. We're confident in the value these resources bring to our practice, but we remain open to expanding and evolving our library as new insights and research emerge.
Adult Children of Alcoholics® & Dysfunctional Families
This support group is a compassionate space for those who have grown up in environments affected by alcoholism or dysfunction. ACA offers a unique 12-Step program focused on healing past traumas and fostering healthier patterns in adulthood. A core part of the ACA experience is The Laundry List — a set of common characteristics many adult children identify with, which helps members recognize the lasting impact of their upbringing. With peer support and structured guidance, members find connection, validation, and tools to create more balanced and fulfilling lives. We recommend ACA for its nurturing approach and commitment to long-term healing.
Workaholics Anonymous
Workaholics Anonymous is a supportive fellowship dedicated to individuals seeking recovery from compulsive work habits. WA offers a 12-Step program to help members recognize and address the emotional and behavioral patterns underlying work addiction. A key feature of WA is The 20 Questions, a self-assessment tool that helps individuals identify workaholic tendencies and consider the impact of overworking on their lives. Through both online and in-person meetings, WA provides a safe space to share experiences, gain support, and develop healthier work-life boundaries. It’s an invaluable resource for anyone striving to find balance and break free from the cycle of overwork.
Underearners Anonymous
Underearners Anonymous is a supportive fellowship for individuals who struggle with patterns of underearning and financial self-sabotage. UA offers a 12-Step program focused on addressing the emotional and behavioral obstacles to achieving financial and personal fulfillment. Members often identify with symptoms of underearning, such as chronic financial instability, self-neglect, and difficulty valuing their time and skills. With shared experiences and practical guidance, UA encourages steps toward financial stability, self-worth, and empowerment.
